About our Nurse Esthetician

Kristen completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Nevada, Reno. Her specialty areas have included maternal/child health and public health. With a passion and interest for skincare, she attended the International School of Esthetics in Denver, CO and received her esthetician license allowing her to combine her medical knowledge and experience with the exciting world of esthetics. Kristen offers advanced esthetic services using the latest technology to help clients reach their skin care goals. Her primary focus is anti-aging treatments to assist with diminishing fine lines and wrinkles and reducing early signs of aging. When Kristen is not with clients, she is spending time with her husband and two children. She enjoys traveling, spending time at Lake Tahoe, and can often be found at the baseball field cheering on her children.

DERMAGLOW Microdermabrasion

DERMAGLOW LED LIGHT THERAPY

LED light therapy emits therapeutic wavelengths (or colors) of light energy to improve many skin conditions. LED is great for reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improving uneven skin tone, reducing pores size, brightening the skin, decreasing sun spots, and rejuvenating the youthful look of your skin. Most commonly utilized on the face, LED light therapy can also be used on other areas of the body including décolletage and back. Kristen utilizes the Dermaglow® LED Multiwave System in her treatments. The multiwave system allows clients to receive the benefits of many colors and wavelengths in a single treatment.

MICRONEEDLING

Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, is a cosmetic procedure that involves repeatedly puncturing the skin with tiny, sterile needles. By creating a series of microscopic channels into the dermis, microneedling stimulates the natural production of new collagen and elastin. Microneedling is a minimally invasive, quick procedure and is performed in-office. Downtime is minimal. Kristen utilizes the SkinPen® by Bellus Medical, the most advanced microneedling tool on the market today and the first microneedling device approved by the FDA. Traditional microneedling dermarollers can bend, break, or even rust. As a result, infection or scarring may occur with reuse. SkinPen® is different. Through an optimized micro-channel creation, SkinPen® uses medical grade straight needles to penetrate at a 90-degree angle. Sterile, single-use needle cartridges are utilized at every visit. SkinPen® is extremely versatile and can be used on the face, neck and décolletage. The number of sessions required and the depth of treatment will vary based on how the skin responds to the treatment and the desired results. **Not recommended for women who are pregnant or nursing.**

SKIN RESURFACING PEEL

The Skin Resurfacing Peel is a procedure in which a chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove the outer most layers. Peels are used to reduce wrinkles, skin discoloration and scars, and to even skin tone. Peels can be applied to the face, neck, décolletage, and hands. Kristen utilized the Exfoliate & Heal Peel by Sorella Apothecary. This peel is considered a light to medium depth peel depending on the number of layers applied to the skin. The Exfoliate & Heal Peel is a blend of the following ingredients:

• Lactic Acid – an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) exfoliator that improves skin’s texture and tone while providing hydration
• Salicylic Acid – a beta hydroxy acid (BHA) that helps unclog pores, remove dead skin cells, and combat acne-causing bacteria
• Kojic Acid – an exfoliant that gently lightens skin while removing dead skin cells, oil, and dirt
• Hydroquinone 2% – effectively fades and lightens pigmented skin cells
• Citric Acid – AHA naturally found in citrus fruits purifies and minimizes the appearance of pores
• Aloe – soothes, heals, and hydrates skin as well as reduces inflammation
